Diest
The beguinage at Diest was founded in 1252. In these pictures you can
see how the houses were built against the church (photographs by Michel Fischer,
in: Weyergans, pp.101, 98, 94).

Diksmuide
This beguinage is
interesting in that Thomas Beckett, archbishop of Canterbury, came here on his
flight from Henry II in 1170.
